RSA

PREPARATION

Winning the RSA Middle East HQ project was not a cakewalk – but we expected it not to be easy. Over a series of interviews, design deliberations and negotiations, we were awarded the responsibility of relocating the regional HQ of this iconic brand from its old location in Oud Metha to a state of the art building on Dubai’s Sheikh Zayed Road in Burj Al Salam.

THE CONCEPT

Spread over three levels, the project included office space across two, floor plates and a customer-oriented retail and customer care space at the ground floor.

Given the magnitude of this change of location, we knew we had to create a space that not only was relevant to today but could also support the business and its evolving messaging over the years to come.

THE OFFICE FLOORS

For the office space, we created an adaptive space plan, with not only room for growth but also feature areas such as break-outs, huddle spaces, informal areas that can be used for team spaces, townhalls and also be a canvas for brand messaging.

Colors of RSA are evident in the industrial design set up via the choice of furniture elements and the graphic design for which we worked with the client’s team to ensure they were effective and planned according to space use. The result is a holistic visual family of graphic design elements that could be applied from spaces as diverse as the meeting rooms and staff dining areas.

THE RETAIL SPACE

The retail space on the ground floor is the face of the brand to the word and its consumers. As a result, we wanted the space to feel streamlined, transparent and open. The use of warm wood, a modern color palette, and an industrial vibe delivers our intent to maxim impact.

THE RESULT

The key challenge here lay in helping the client make full use of their floor space. We liaised with both the building management and Dubai Municipality to ensure we could include the common corridor space into the office area. This required us to also amend the site to meet relevant Dubai Civil Defence codes, which were implemented to fruition.
