Milestone Systems

THE BRIEF

Spencer Interiors was brought in for a straightforward reason. Milestone Systems wanted to transform the way their Dubai office looks, feels and works. The scope covered five key areas across the floor plate: the experience centre, training room, conference room, reception and sales workspace, all of which needed to better reflect a brand built on precision and innovation. With a team that was growing fast, the brief also called for smarter, more considered use of space.
The bar was set high from the start. Every intervention had to deliver real impact and it had to do so without taking the office offline for a single working day.

THE CONCEPT

From the outset, the design team stepped back from the obvious approach. Rather than a conventional refurbishment, the question driving the concept was simpler and more interesting: how do you reshape the way a brand is experienced without changing the building itself?
The concept centred on contrast. Client-facing zones were designed to carry a stronger spatial identity and a more deliberate material language, whilst supporting spaces were kept calm, focused and free from visual distraction. The experience would shift naturally with function, rather than be defined by a uniform design treatment applied throughout.
At its core, the project was about unlocking potential within constraints. A principle that, in many respects, reflects Milestone's own approach to technology.

INSPIRATION

Every office tells you something about the company inside it. This one was designed to tell you everything. The design drew its inspiration directly from Milestone Systems' DNA: a technology-driven, data-centric business where clarity, precision and layered information define everything it does. The workplace was conceived not as a backdrop, but as a system, a series of varying intensities that reflect how the brand itself operates.
The existing industrial framework of the office provided an honest, raw foundation. Rather than concealing it, Spencer Interiors leveraged it, allowing selective interventions to introduce focus and character where they mattered most.

PROCESS & DECISIONS

The project began with rigorous space planning. Multiple layout iterations were explored to reconfigure the relationship between the experience centre, conference room and training areas, optimising usable areas, improving functional flow and minimising demolition works. With an occupied workplace, every decision carried operational consequences; programme discipline and phasing were as critical as any design choice.
Budget priorities were allocated with surgical precision. Rather than spreading investment thinly across the entire floor plate, the team concentrated resources on the experience-led areas where the return on impact would be greatest. This strategic frugality is what gives the project its coherence: nothing feels over-engineered, and nothing is left wanting.
Early integration of technology and services shaped both the spatial and ceiling strategies. Seamless AV and presentation capability was a prerequisite, not an afterthought, and this informed decisions at every stage of the design development.

MATERIALS & SPECIFICATION

Experience Centre: Wooden ribbed wall panels · LVT flooring in concrete finish · Exposed dark-painted industrial ceiling · Integrated presentation-optimised lighting strategy

Conference & Training: Carpet flooring for acoustic comfort · Neutral, subdued material palette with subtle brand infusions · Recessed lighting for AV clarity · Minimal visual clutter

TECHNOLOGY INTEGRATION

Technology integration was not merely a deliverable, it was the centrepiece. The experience centre now houses a seamlessly embedded suite of video walls, interactive displays, controller desks and presentation systems, all coordinated with both the existing and new IT/AV infrastructure.
Close collaboration between the design, build and technology teams ensured that every system was embedded with minimum visual clutter. The result is an environment that performs as a fully functional client presentation theatre: impressive on arrival, effortless in use, and entirely aligned with the Milestone brand promise.

THE OUTCOME

The completed project delivered a strategically reconfigured, experience-led workplace environment and did so without interrupting a single working day. Five key spaces were transformed, each with a distinct character, a clear purpose and a material language calibrated to its role within the wider office ecosystem.
The experience centre emerged as the primary spatial statement: a confident, technology-forward environment that enhances client presentations, product demonstrations and brand engagement. Supporting spaces including the sales floor, training room and reception were realised as calm, acoustically controlled environments that enable focus and effective communication.
Across all zones, the integration of materials, lighting, acoustics and AV systems produced a cohesive, performance-driven workplace. One that is not simply better-looking, but fundamentally better at doing what the company needs it to do.

CLIENT FEEDBACK

Milestone Systems expressed their complete satisfaction with Spencer Interiors across every stage of the project. From the initial planning process through to final handover, the team demonstrated a thorough understanding of the brief, a collaborative working approach and an unwavering commitment to delivering results.
The experience centre, in particular, met every expectation. The project was completed ahead of schedule, and Milestone Systems confirmed that Spencer Interiors remained their partner of choice throughout.
