The Design

The Huawei Open Lab space is located within a new purpose built facility, functioning as the Huawei headquarters for the Middle East Region. The brief and requirements included an interactive customer experience centre to demonstrate multiple technologies across various sectors, a regional data centre, various technical labs, training facilities, conference and meeting rooms, management and support staff offices. A large additional power upgrade was also part of the scope to facilitate the requirements of the data centre. A main feature was the large scale multiple video walls which extend throughout the floor enabling a unique visitor experience.


The Open Lab

The Huawei Open Lab is the main customer experience centre within the region. The Open Lab consists of multiple different zones featuring sector specific technologies. We have listed these in more detail as we have individually designed the Open Lab by industry sector and zone to accommodate prototypes and graphics each featuring a precise technology.


Safe City

An actual working system where real time alerts for various threats and potential threats across the city can be received and the necessary responses and actions taken, controlled through the same facility. The demonstration facility included a large 7m X 2.2m led panel Hd seamless display, with command and control desks.


Smart City

Various technical solutions demonstrated including smart parking solutions, smart policing, smart home and smart office solutions. Actual working prototypes were custom-built for each to enable the best possible customer experience.


Smart Transport

Various smart transport solutions including aviation industry, road rail and maritime digital security and control system solutions.


Smart grid and Oil & Gas

High importance was given to the smart grid and energy solutions where working prototypes were created to enable easier understanding of the Huawei contribution to these respective industries.

The Open Lab Reception zone and entrance features a bespoke circular structure incorporating 8 LED screens framed within a multitude of fine blue light lines. It is within this zone that Huawei Al technology is showcased. The latest technology, getting priority and the prime location.


The Management and Office Area

The management and office area comprises a large training facility that is designed to host long duration training sessions for all technology partners of Huawei. it is positioned with direct access to the client experience lab and is equipped with an extra large video wall to allow exceptional training experience.
